My interest in therapy began while I was studying a psychology degree at The University of Western Sydney and working at a children’s charity in New South Wales, Australia. I returned to West Yorkshire and enrolled on a basic counselling certificate to start my journey into talking therapies.
I have always felt fortunate to have worked alongside many long term psychotherapy clients and shorter-term counselling clients who have experienced both primary and secondary mental health care.
As my career progressed I took management positions within therapy services as my first qualifications are in Business and Marketing. I loved the management roles and later clinical director role alongside the therapeutic work. It gave me the best of both worlds.
